David has
16 years experience in marketing and sales with high technology companies.
Over the past few years, he has worked as an independent consultant
and private investor to technology start-ups. He joined First Virtual
Communications (FVC), a multimedia networking company, as its first
field sales representative where he built the initial U.S. channels.
He then he took over the company’s international strategy
where he built the company’s international presence in Asia ,Europe
and Latin America through a highly leveraged virtual corporation model.
He left FVC after a successful initial public offering. Prior
to FVC, Mr. Norman was Director of Sales for the Western U.S. and Japan
for Cornerstone Imaging, a document-imaging company. He joined
Cornerstone as Director of Asia Pacific Sales. He left Cornerstone
for FVC after Cornerstone’s successful IPO. Mr. Norman was
founder of Businessland Japan , a Tokyo- based network integration company.
Businessland Japan was a joint venture between Businessland, Inc.,
Softbank Corp., Fujitsu, Toshiba, Canon and Sony. Prior to Businessland,
Mr. Norman was an Industry Analyst for Dataquest, a market research
company. Mr. Norman holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering
from University California Santa Barbara where he also studied Japanese.
Douglas Wadkins, Chief Technology Officer
Douglas has more than 17 years of experience with mergers and acquisitions
and leading high technology teams. Douglas joined Edgewater from Cisco
Systems where he held a number of positions including corporate business
development and engineering and marketing roles in the voice technology
area. He came to Cisco via its acquisition of Vovida Networks, a provider
of call control software for IP networks utilizing an open source business
model. Douglas was a member of the founding management team of Vovida.
Prior to Vovida Douglas was with Aspect Communications and Nortel Networks,
where he focused on leading global technical teams responsible for the
company’s information technology infrastructure and leading the
Enterprise Networks Software Business Unit. Prior to Nortel Networks
Douglas served with the United States Navy Submarine Command as an Operations
Officer. He holds an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering.
Dave Martin, Vice President of Marketing
Dave brings
to Edgewater more than 14 years of experience with networking technologies
in a variety of marketing, sales and customer support roles. Most recently,
Mr. Martin was the Director of Marketing for Andes Networks responsible
for outbound marketing and business development. Prior to Andes Mr.
Martin was the Vice President of Product Management at Nokia IPRG, where
he was responsible for product strategy and outbound marketing of the
Nokia/Checkpoint security appliance product family. In this role, he
helped grow the product line from a single platform to a diverse product
family of firewall and VPN products that led the business unit in revenue.
He came to Nokia through its acquisition of Ipsilon Networks in January
of 1998. As the Director of Product Management at Ipsilon, Mr. Martin
was charged with transitioning Ipsilon’s products from the pure
routing space into new networking security markets. While at Ipsilon,
he also served as the Director of Worldwide Technical Services. In this
capacity, he handled the development and delivery of pre and post sales
customer support. Mr. Martin began his career at Newbridge Networks
holding a variety of technical and managerial roles in support of Newbridge’s
TDM, ATM, Frame Relay, NMS and routing products.
Rumus Sakya, VP of Platform Engineering
Rumus Sakya brings to Edgewater Networks over 15 years of engineering experience developing consumer and business class wireline and wireless networking appliances. Before joining Edgewater, Rumus was Engineering Director of Business Solutions Division at Efficient Networks (a Siemens company). A highly skilled leader in cross-functional engineering management, Rumus has a proven track record of engineering new products from concept to cost-managed high volume to create commercial success. At Efficient, he led internal and OEM/ODM development of business broadband routers, security appliances and IAD devices. Prior to that, Rumus held design engineering positions at FlowPoint Corporation developing DSL access routers; First Pacific Networks developing voice-over-cable CPE devices; and GRiD Systems Corp. developing pen-based handheld computers. Rumus holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Chris Lanier, VP of Software Development
Mr. Lanier is VP of Software Engineering at Edgewater Networks. Mr. Lanier has over 20 years of industry consulting and product development experience, including engineering management and strategic technology consulting. His technology experience includes development of network equipment, real time operating systems, and media management and distribution. Mr. Lanier has managed development teams in the US and India. Prior to joining Edgewater, Mr. Lanier was a Senior Consultant and Solutions Manager for Cisco Systems. Mr. Lanier consulted for US and Global Service Provider companies such as SBC, Verizon, BellSouth, Qwest, Equant, AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Sunguard, NTT, China Telecom, and Telmex, focusing on technology strategy and new IP services. Mr. Lanier was also a requested guest lecturer at executive level briefings within Cisco as well as at industry conferences. Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Inc., Mr. Lanier managed content and video distribution products for First Virtual Corporation. During his tenure with FVC, the company successfully initiated a public offering, and introduced video services to enterprises and Service Providers worldwide. Prior to FVC, Mr. Lanier managed software consulting and development activities for companies including Hewlett-Packard, Tibco, and Consilium.

David A. Norman, Chairman
David is
a private investor in high technology companies and a director of several
private high technology companies. He served as Chairman and director
of NetRatings, Inc. from November 1997 to April 2002. Mr. Norman was
the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Businessland,
Inc., a computer reseller that grew in six years to over $1 billion
in revenues. Computer Retail News named him as one of the industry’s
top executives for eight consecutive years. Mr. Norman also founded
Dataquest, a high technology market research company that was acquired
by A.C. Nielsen where Mr. Norman was a Director for a number of years.
Mr. Norman was a Naval carrier pilot. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a M.S. degree in Industrial
Engineering from Stanford University.

Tom Peterson, General Partner, El Dorado Ventures
Tom Peterson is a General Partner with El Dorado Ventures, an
early-stage venture capital firm. Tom has been with El Dorado Ventures
since 1986. He focuses on early-stage investments in software, service
and communications companies. Tom joined El Dorado in 1986 from Union
Venture Corp., the venture capital arm of Union Bank of California,
where he was an Investment Officer. Prior to joining Union Venture,
Tom held engineering and management positions with Hewlett-Packard and
General Electric. Tom received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical
Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson
School of Management.
Amanda Reed, Partner, Palomar Ventures
Amanda joined Palomar Ventures in 2001 after a 15 year career of leadership
in sales, marketing, and business development in a series of successful
start-up companies. With the operating experience of two IPOs and two
company acquisitions in excess of $100M, Amanda brings extensive early-stage
operations talent and insight to her work with emerging technology companies
such as Edgewater Networks. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Economics from Dartmouth College. Palomar Ventures is an early-stage
venture capital fund currently investing more than $500M in information
technology companies. Palomar has offices in Irvine, Palo Alto, and
Santa Monica, California and is active throughout California and the
western United States.
David Toth
David is
the former President, CEO and founder of NetRatings, Inc. He led NetRatings
to its position as the leading provider of Internet audience information
and analysis. As President and CEO Mr. Toth formed strategic partnerships
with Nielsen Media Research and ACNielsen. Together, the three companies
developed Nielsen//NetRatings, the leading global Internet Audience
Measurement service with deployments in 29 countries throughout the
world. Prior to forming NetRatings, Mr. Toth was a Vice President at
Hitachi Computer Products where he led the Network Products Group and
was responsible for the development, sales and marketing of numerous
hardware and software products. Former affiliations include Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory, Interlink Computer Sciences and PPG Industries.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at NexTag and a private
investor in several high technology companies including Bow Street Software
and Swingtide. Mr. Toth holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Pittsburgh.
