Edgewater Networks, Inc. Enhances Award-Winning Bandwidth Management Capabilities in all EdgeMarc Network Services Gateways

EdgeMarc Network Services Gateways now feature multiple priority queues, BGP routing and Class of Service (CoS) tagging for MPLS deployments.

Santa Clara, CA— March 10, 2009 —Edgewater Networks, Inc. announced today an expanded feature set in all EdgeMarc Network Services Gateways for MPLS deployments. With the introduction of EdgeMarc VOS 9.1.1, all EdgeMarcs support multiple priority queues and Class of Service (CoS) tagging. This expanded feature set directly benefit service providers deploying MPLS by reducing the configuration for enterprise VPNs and providing an access device that supports and enforces network-wide bandwidth management policies.

With the release of EdgeMarc VOS 9.1.1, all EdgeMarc Network Services Gateways now feature:

  • Up to 8 queues for tagging for voice, video and data allowing service providers to ensure traffic is prioritized correctly for any converged network solution
  • Class of Service (CoS) tagging and policing
  • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing
  • An integrated Test User Agent (UA) that is used as a stand alone test point or in conjunction with the Active Line Testing tool available with the EdgeView VoIP Support System
  • Award-winning existing EdgeMarc features, including a VoIP-aware stateful packet inspection firewall, virtual private networking, traffic management, passive call quality monitoring, VoIP survivability, and WAN link redundancy

“With the introduction of the CoS tagging for all traffic we have expanded the EdgeMarc feature set portfolio to reduce operating expenses and management for MPLS deployments,” said David G. Norman, Chief Executive Officer at Edgewater Networks Inc.
