Edgewater Networks Receives INTERNET TELEPHONY® Magazine’s “Product of the Year” Award for 2004

- EdgeMarc 4300T Honored for Outstanding Innovation

Santa Clara, Calif. – January 7, 2005 –
Edgewater Networks, Inc., the leader in Application-Aware Networking™, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)’s INTERNET TELEPHONY® magazine (www.itmag.com) has named the EdgeMarc 4300T as a recipient of a 2004 Product of the Year Award. INTERNET TELEPHONY has been the VoIP Authority Since 1998™.

The EdgeMarc 4300T enables service providers and enterprises to simplify, secure and scale their converged networks. It is an access router that integrates a T1 CSU/DSU, a 4 port ethernet switch and an encryption accelerator into a single device. It includes software features that remove the complexity and expense associated with deploying real-time applications such as voice and video on an IP network.

These include a SIP, MGCP and H.323 VoIP application layer gateway that securely resolves NAT/FW traversal problems, a stateful packet inspection firewall, VPN support, quality of service features to ensure high quality voice and video, call quality monitoring, VoIP call admission control and VoIP survivability that provides local call switching during WAN access link failures.

The 4300T is a flexible, “future proof” device that can be deployed initially as an access router and then licensed through software for advanced VoIP features when needed.

“No other networking product available integrates the range of functions needed to ensure the secure and reliable delivery of real-time, IP based voice and video,” said Dave Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks, Inc. “We are very pleased that the 4300T incorporating our unique application-aware networking technology to simplify the security, setup and monitoring of converged networks has been recognized as an innovative solution.”

“Each year INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. Edgewater has demonstrated to the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY that its products are committed to quality and innovation while addressing the real needs in the marketplace,” said Rich Tehrani, Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY.

The Product of the Year Award winners for 2004 will be published in the January 2005 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
